The giant icosahedron
This giant icosahedron is made with five
reinforced rhombicosidodecahedra (those on the yellow columns), and seven
normal rhombicosidodecahedra. The edges are «tubes» made of square antiprisms. With these supports, and in this position the construction is not very difficult; I think it would be if we tried to build it on one of its triangular faces (as the two versions shown in
Smaller giant icosahedra were). This model is built to scale 9.28, being 1 the normal, 30-rod, 12-ball icosahedron.
